Every country on Earth
is for sale. Including yours.

166 countries, one owner each, all starting at $1. Buy one — or several in a single payment — and they turn your colour on the map with your name on them. You don't have to be from a country to own it, and anyone can take yours for 1.5× what you paid, forever. Or skip the queue entirely: fly your flag over the whole map for $10 over what the board is already worth.

The whole world

Nobody flies a flag over the map. Put your colour on all of it for $12.00.

$10.00 plus every payment ever made for it, plus what the claimed countries are worth. Buying it doubles the price, so the next buyer pays $24.00, and every country anyone claims underneath pushes it higher again.

Everyone holding a country, in plain words.

How it works

Three moves. One map.

01

Buy a country — or fifty

Every country opens at $1 — the United States and Luxembourg alike. Nothing is priced by size or wealth. Take one, or ⌘-click a whole basket of them and pay for the lot at once. What each one ends up worth is whatever people will pay to hold it, which is the only ranking here that means anything.

02

It becomes yours on the map

The whole country turns your colour, with your name, your pitch and your logo on it, plus a written listing below and a slot in the ticker up top. Every click out is counted and shown.

03

Then defend it

Anyone can take it off you for 1.5× what you paid, and that price ratchets every single time it changes hands. Hold something people want and it gets expensive to prise away. Hold something nobody wants and it stays a dollar.

The rules

Short enough to read them all.

  • $1.00Opening price for every country on the board. No tiers, no reserve.
  • ×1.5What it costs to take one off whoever holds it, rounded up to the nearest 5¢.
  • 1Owner per country. There is one Japan, and whoever holds it holds all of it.
  • 166Countries on the board. Actively disputed territories are left off — this is a game, and those aren't.
  • ×2What the whole map costs after each sale. It opens at $10 over the board's own value, doubles every time it changes hands, and climbs again with every country anyone claims underneath it.
  • 0Restrictions on which flag you fly. Own anywhere, from anywhere.
  • The only direction a price has ever moved. Nothing is refunded when you lose a country — that is the risk, and it is the whole game.
