Rule the World is a leaderboard for promoting apps, websites and products, dressed up as a world map. Buying a country here buys you an advertising slot on this website and nothing else.

• No real-world claim of any kind. “Owning” a country on this board is a scoreboard position. It confers no property, no rights, no authority and no connection whatsoever to the actual country, its land, its government or its people.
• No political statement. Which countries appear, what they cost, who holds them and how they are coloured are products of a game and of who happened to pay. None of it expresses a view about any nation, border, government or population.
• Prices mean nothing about countries. A price here reflects what one advertiser paid for a slot on a small website. It is not a valuation, a ranking, or a comment on any country's worth, economy or people — and it should never be read as one.
• Disputed territories are deliberately left off. Of the world's territories, 166 appear here. Places under active territorial dispute are excluded on purpose, because a game has no business taking a position on them.
• Advertisers are not endorsed. Listings are bought. Their content belongs to whoever bought them and is not checked, backed or recommended by us.
• Borders and names come from public map data. The map is drawn from the Natural Earth public-domain dataset at a very coarse resolution. Any border, name or omission is an artefact of that data and of the pixel grid, not a claim.
